| I'm a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University. I'm married & have a beautiful little girl named Emily. I've been involved in computers since my early days as a high school student. When I returned home from the Gulf War, I used some of my saved money to buy my first computer, an HP 386. Since I couldn't afford to pay for service as a college student I learned to work on the machine myself. Soon I was building them, & refurbishing old computers for spending money. Upon graduation I worked for a time as a statistical programmer at Vanderbilt University, but found that I really enjoyed systems work more than anything else. I became the System Administrator for a water utility in Rutherford County and remained there fro 8 years. I gained experience in Windows & Novell networking, Cisco equipment, routing, software distribution, database administration & design, telephone systems, IP video cameras, Wireless networking and all of the ways that these systems can interact. I earned my first MCSE in Windows NT 4.0, and most recently passed the exams for MCSE in Windows 2003. (You might say that I'm an MCSE2.) Over the years I spent a certain amount of time working as a part-time consultant for small- & medium-sized businesses in the Murfreesboro, Brentwood, Franklin, & Nashville area. After a back injury & surgery caused me to have to spend a lot of time at home watching TV (& not liking it), I decided a change was needed. I left to form my own business in 2006, and have discovered that I really enjoy showing smaller companies how they can derive the maximum benefit of their IT investment by showing them features that most people have no idea exist in Windows. In Murfreesboro there are few businesses that are so large that they can justify keeping an MCSE on staff; but there are a ton out there that could really use the expertise & experience I bring to the table. I've taken the Dale Carnegie course to help me talk to customers effectively. It's my genuine pleasure to put together new networks & refresh existing ones. I go out of my way to be friendly and to give my customers help & information without "talking down" to them or making them feel stupid for not being a computer geek. As I like to say, "You be an expert in your business, and I'll worry about the geeky stuff." That way everybody's happy, & nobody gets hurt!:) | |
